The trek officially begins as you travel from Govindghat to Pulna, a short 4 km drive, before starting the 9 km ascent to Ghangaria. The trail follows the Pushpawati River, offering mesmerizing views of lush green forests, cascading waterfalls, and charming wooden bridges. As you hike, the air becomes crisp and fresh, filled with the sounds of chirping birds and flowing streams. Ghangaria, a small settlement surrounded by towering peaks, is the base camp for both the Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib. You will settle into a guesthouse for the night, soaking in the serenity of the mountains.

Trek: 8 km / 6-7 hrs 

Today is the highlight of the trek as you venture into the UNESCO-listed Valley of Flowers, a paradise of vibrant alpine blooms. The trail starts with a gradual ascent, eventually opening up to a breathtaking meadow filled with an explosion of colors. Blue poppies, cobra lilies, and the rare Brahma Kamal can be spotted among the thousands of floral species. The valley is also home to diverse wildlife, including Himalayan monals, blue sheep, and rare butterflies. With towering snow-capped peaks in the backdrop, every step feels like walking through a painting. After exploring the valley and capturing its beauty, you will return to Ghangaria for an overnight stay.

Altitude: 14,200 ft

Trek: 12 km / 7-8 hrs 

This day involves a challenging yet rewarding trek to Hemkund Sahib, the highest Gurudwara in the world at 14,200 feet. The steep climb is filled with panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. Upon reaching the summit, you’ll be greeted by the serene Hemkund Lake, reflecting the towering mountains in its crystal-clear waters. Pilgrims from around the world visit this sacred site, where Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru, is believed to have meditated. The tranquility and spiritual energy of the place are truly mesmerizing. After spending some time at the Gurudwara, you will descend back to Ghangaria for the night.

Trek: 13 km / 5-6 hrs

Drive: 4 km / 1 hrs

Retracing your steps, you will descend from Ghangaria back to Govindghat through the same picturesque trail, surrounded by lush greenery and the sound of the gushing river. After reaching Govindghat, a short drive takes you to Joshimath, a significant town in Uttarakhand known for its spiritual importance and stunning views of the Himalayas. In the evening, you can explore local markets, visit temples, or simply relax and reflect on the incredible journey. You will spend the night in a comfortable hotel in Joshimath.

The final day of the journey takes you back to Rishikesh, driving through the scenic Garhwal Himalayas. The route offers one last chance to soak in the beauty of the towering mountains and river valleys. Along the way, you can stop at viewpoints and small villages to capture the essence of the region. Upon reaching Rishikesh, your unforgettable trek to the Valley of Flowers comes to an end, leaving you with memories of a lifetime.
